Romiley Shop Volunteer Raises £2,095 for St Ann’s Hospice with Fun-Filled Fundraising Event
Romiley came alive with music, laughter, and community spirit as long-time St Ann’s Hospice volunteer Mary Dodd hosted a spectacular fundraising event that raised an incredible £2,095 for the charity.
Held at a local venue, the event was packed with entertainment for all ages, featuring a raffle, karaoke, a lively "spin the wheel" game, a DJ set, and a delicious buffet. The atmosphere was buzzing as supporters from across the community came together to support the cause—and have plenty of fun doing it!
The success of the evening was made possible by over 50 local businesses that generously donated raffle prizes. From bottles of fizz and hampers to chocolates and Oasis posters, the prize table was bursting with amazing items that added extra excitement to the night.
One lucky winner was Zoe, manager of St Ann’s Hospice's Edgeley shop, who walked away with £100 from a football card competition run during the event.
Mary Dodd, who has volunteered at the Romiley shop for many years, said she was overwhelmed by the support:
“I couldn’t believe how many people turned out and how generous everyone was. The energy in the room was amazing, and it’s all for such a special cause. St Ann’s Hospice means so much to so many of us.”
The funds raised will go directly to support the vital work of St Ann’s Hospice, helping provide care and support for people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
A big thank you to Mary, the generous donors, the tireless volunteers, and everyone who attended and contributed to this fantastic evening.
Together, we’re making a difference—one fun night at a time.
